A Sport for all ages.
Providing over 40 years of Boules, Solihull Pétanque was founded in September 1982 and achieved affiliation to the national body, now Pétanque England, the following year. It became a fully integrated section of the Blossomfield when we moved to the Widney Lane site in 1996.
We play boules on two purpose built terrains. The primary terrain is floodlit and can accommodate 12 teams (6 lanes) in comfort. It also provides full wheelchair access. When hosting larger events the second terrain extends our capacity to 24 teams. Our aim is to provide facilities that are amongst the finest in the Heart of England / West Midlands region.
Come along, whatever your experience. Perhaps you are a competitive player or maybe you have just played on holiday - all are welcome and loan boules are freely available. We are particularly keen to introduce junior players to the sport of Pétanque. Youngsters from about 11 are more than welcome, accompanied by a family member. It's a great sport for all the family to enjoy. So come along to a "Club Day" and discover Solihull Pétanque. Better still bring a friend. As we are part of Blossomfield Club, there's an extensive social calendar, offering a wide range of additional activities to Solihull Pétanque members.
Arrange a fun activity with a difference.
We regularly book our terrain to visiting groups from local organisations such as Rotary clubs, Lions, Round Table. WI's etc. Many of these groups return year after year.
We will put together a supervised event to suit your needs and supply all the equipment necessary for a fun evening of boules. Your members don't need any previous experience as we will explain the rules and show them the basics of the game.
A typical evening will provide between 2 to 2 1⁄2 hours of play and is ideal for groups of 12 to 36 people.
A charge is made for each visitor in your group. This provides temporary membership and will be set to include any additional requirements you may request.
Visitors are welcome to use the club's bar facilities when signed in by a member and you could round off the evening with supper in the club house.
Youth Groups
We like to encourage the participation of junior players to the game of Pétanque. So we are happy to arrange free familiarisation or coaching sessions for local youth groups and schools.
